2026–27 Dance With the Dolls Junior/ Collegiate Fellowship And Membership Interest Form

The New Orleans Society of Dance's "DANCE WITH THE DOLLS" Program:
is designed to develop the next generation of culturally knowledgeable, creatively skilled, and professionally prepared young people through multidisciplinary arts and workforce development experiences. Participants may pursue fellowship participation, qualification for membership in designated Junior or Collegiate units, and opportunities to work toward earning cultural ambassadorship through demonstrated knowledge, participation, professionalism, leadership, and successful completion of applicable program requirements.
Enrollment or participation alone does not confer membership or Cultural Ambassador status. Both are distinctions that must be earned through their respective qualification processes.

PATHWAY 1 — Performance & Membership Pathway
For High School or College Students (Ages 13-24) interested in training and completing the qualification process for potential membership in the Junior or Collegiate Baby Doll Ladies and/or BBDL Banner/Dancing Skullz Squads, including performance and Mardi Gras participation.
FELLOWSHIP = the artistic developmental experience

PATHWAY 2 — Dance With the Dolls Arts & Cultural Fellowship
For High School or College Students (Ages 13-24) interested in multidisciplinary cultural workforce development through dance/performance, creative media, visual arts/design, cultural heritage, mentorship, leadership, and professional portfolio development without requiring organizational membership.
MEMBERSHIP = an organizational affiliation one may qualify for and financially elect to accept.

EARNED AMBASSADORSHIP = an earned designation through demonstrating the required cultural knowledge, competencies, professionalism, participation, and completion standards.
Someone could therefore complete the fellowship without becoming a member.
Someone pursuing membership must qualify and accept the membership commitment. And someone is not simply called a Cultural Ambassador because they registered for DWTD.
